finally we proost have tune in chill out and fractals in stock.
Tune In, Chill Out explores the riches of contemplative prayer, making ancient practices accessible through contributions from experienced practitioners from all areas of the church. with chapters on stilling and guided meditations, silence, labyrinths, retreats, lectio divina, the jesus prayer, centring, franciscan and ignatian prayer, this book was primarily written for youth workers but can be used in many different worship and prayer contexts. Tune In, Chill Out contains a CD-ROM which we (proost) have created. we are rather chuffed with our efforts – it is jam packed. it’s a dual format CD so that you can play the 5 music/meditation tracks in your CD player. then there is a CD environment with a mix of visual and written material, including some fine new flash animations and presentations. all the component parts are included separately so that you can use them on their own or in other presentations or contexts.
Fractals is a CD ROM resource for those wanting to pursue creative possibilities in worship. mark pierson, one of the authors of the Prodigal Project and someone who has been at the creative edge of worship for many years, has packed his years of wisdom and creativity into this CD ROM. together with the innovative cityside baptist church in auckland, new zealand they have created inspirational liturgies, art, stations, poetry, and music. a wide range of materials sourced from the last decade are shared. fractals takes you through the sunday morning worship, the cycle of evening worship events, and through the church year as they celebrate it. there are a mix of theoretical reflections, practical ideas and liturgical pieces. it is beautifully packaged, self published by mark, and good value…
I’ve got a copy of fractals here… kinda helps that I was at Blackstump with Mark last week.
And tomorrow after my income comes through I’ll be jumping on the proost site and ordering a couple of copies of Tune In, I had a look at a copy the other day, funny, at Blackstump too… and it looks like a great resource and nicely set out too…
Cheers
looks good.
how different to ‘soul shaper’ is ‘tune in, chill out’ ?
not sure whether you came to a decision on worship tricks after 100, but Fractals has got to be a strong contender for 101 hasn’t it?
tune in chill out is the uk equivalent of soul shaper i guess… i’ll ask jen to comment here on what she perceives the difference to be…
one big difference is the cd rom that you get with tune in chill out which has animations, memditation tracks etc…
Tune In Chill Out has chapters written by people from different traditions – Quaker, Fransiscan, Ignatian, Lectio Divina, Stilling, Guided meditations and so on. Each chapter includes exercises and activities to introduce those practices to groups. And as Jonny said, there’s a CD-ROM with stuff on it to use in those activities or in any way you choose
