vaux termination of service

got an e-mail from vaux
with news that services are to end. vaux has been wonderful – lots of great friends involved. these things have seasons – a time to be born and a time to die and all that… i’m sure out of death will come rebirth of other things with so many creative people involved. but I still feel sad. this is the text of the e-mail.

All Change. All Change.
To all our valued customers/passengers/co-conspirators:

After 7 years discontinuous exploration, this service will be stopping at Vauxhall.
2 final destinations:

5 June
Incorporating a panoramic roller-coaster ride through the past 7 years.
Stunning views. Full audio soundtrack. Sponsored by Tricksters Inc.
Departs 8pm prompt.

3 July
Incorporating a celebratory buffet car to thank all those who have journeyed with us over the past 7 years. Bread and wine in abundance.
7:30pm. Your bottle is your ticket.

The VauxMassTransit Corporation would dearly love you all to be there.

    I remember talking about the coalitional and temporal nature of the really creative stuff. The vaux worship material has had an incredibly stong impact on people like me, who have no direct connection at all, but simply encounter the words printed on their white screen. wonder if they will leave the website up for a while, or whether worship scavengers like me need to download the files. Ych. Feel like a carrion crow even saying that. The worship material at Vaux was articulate and iconoclastic and profound.

    No need for vultures to gather just yet; we’re planning on formatting the resources properly for special release…
    But that would be telling 😉

    sad to hear this news. Like ‘theoldbill’, i am one of the many whom Vaux has inspired and impacted despite having very little contact at all – mainly through their website and via greenbelt. I look forward with anticipation to their next chapters (or mode of transport)…
