i gave a webinar about fringe dweller for beyond the walls. most of the things i have done have been very conversational and interactive so it was a good challenge to do something a bit more presentational. it’s in four chunks – an introduction, and then i answer these three questions:
- how might dwelling on jesus’ encounters with those at the fringes open up imagination for our own practice and ministry?
- does the lens of fringe dwelling have anything to fresh to say to us about jesus and about being disciples?
- how might we read the scriptures , particularly gospel stories, in participative ways in our communities?
i can’t work out how to embed the video here so to watch it go to the beyond the walls page, scroll down to past webinars and click on jonny baker: fringe dweller and you can watch it there. if you want to know more about fringe dweller that will give you a sense of what it’s about i hope.

secondly if you want a sample of one of the forty reflections in the book to give you an idea of the content, the baptist times published flip the script which includes the reflection, practice and liturgy and illustration. it is a really powerful reflection i think.
