while i am in n wales at st beunos on a spiritual direction course, we had a day off and i headed over to see gav and erika in llandudno. gav and i did a walk in eryri, the snowdonia national park. it was a loop which began at llyn ogwen walked up to the right side of tryfan, went right onto glyder fach through castell y gwynt onto glyder fawr, dropping back down through the devil’s kitchen. it was a cold windy day, cloud swirling, frost and some bits of ice and snow, with the occasional clearing opening up the vista.

it was visceral – i loved it even if some of it was a careful putting one foot in front of the other. when we came out on the top through the cloud it was like another world somewhere between lord of gthe rings and being on the moon (at least in my imagination). i was in trusted company with gave who knows that landscape well. if you click below you can see a flickr album and i posted a couple above to give a flavour. the one above is a view across to last year’s walk up the snowden horseshoe.
