mr jones and me…

Ajones05good to catch up at the scooter cafe with andrew jones who is not in london enough these days as far as i am concerned! he was passing through en route to zurich. gareth joined us and among other things i was asking andrew about technorati and the like. two years ago in the scooter i was persuaded by andrew to switch from blogger to typepad (which turned put to be great advice) so i am always keen to listen to what tallskinnykiwi thinks is cooking out there in the ether. andrew has become a great friend over the years. must try and make it to orkney in 2006…

Cool. I would love to hear more about the potential of Technorati as well. It seems to have so much going for it (as long as it doesn’t get too “gate-kept” but my attempts at tagging and optimisation have been total failures.

i read your encounters on your blog yesterday which gave me a healthy does of skepticism… i guess it’s one of many tools. the tagging thing does seem to be being used more though. i guess it’s a question of what degree you want to go to to try and attract readers. it’s difficult to find the time to blog sometimes let alone work on getting people there. yet if the thoughts are worth putting out there i guess we should think about these things every so often as well.

Well I’m sure not in this for the money! 😉 I’d like to get the tags working because it is a good way to tie blogs together, especially since so many people have gone off trackback. However, reading some of the techie blogs, it does appear that tagging is still at the flaky stage. I hope it comes together in the next year.
That said, the idea of blog-censorship via technorati does scare me.
