i am really excited that i have a new book out that has just arrived – imagining mission with john v taylor by jonny baker and cathy ross. i have written it together with friend and colleague cathy ross. she has blogged a wee bit about it on the publisher's site here leap over the wall or perish. it's reduced by £4 until the end of august if you get in quick or i have a box full though as i am not going out much not sure what i'll do with them! the official publishing date is aug 30 i think so it's caught me slightly unprepared.

it is inspired by john taylor's writings and imaginings – but it really isn't a historical book or a book about john taylor per se. it's more a soaking in his ideas and wonderful imaginings and then speaking boldy out of that into today's questions and issues in church, mission and society. he was a prophet character without doubt. it was really cathy's book to write to be honest as she was reading john taylor's newsletters but she invited me in to work with her on the book which i have loved doing. it has been a joy to write and has had a strange effect on me of making me feel more free and more bold. i think that is taylor's effect!

anyway i am not going to say more about it now but if you follow my blog, instagram, twitter, facebook i will be posting some reflections related to the book over the coming weeks. it's a weird thing – i am excited and want to talk aboiut it and of course promote it but i also don't want to be overly irritating by going on about my new book so i hope i'll get the balance right or at least you'll humour me. we maty well do an online launch soonish when cathy is back from holidays – watch this space but not sure how that works online?! i also intend to do some stuff related to it on creativity and imagination – again watch this space.
