before easter i visited the stations of the cross exhibition in oxford. i mentioned one of the pieces below but i was also blown away by the piece by nick mynheer and followed up his work afterwards and came across his own web site. i absolutely love his sculptures. the one at the exhibition was of simon of cyrene sharing the carrying of the cross with christ – such an evocative sculpture. i took a photograph of one of nick's pieces in an exhibition pulse a couple of year's back of an angel. i absolutely love that piece (and photo) too. check out his site. if you are in a church looking to commission a piece of art nick would be really worth considering. he also works in paint and glass. i've not met but hope our paths will cross…
