at the stations of the cross exhibition in oxford one of the stand out pieces was this photograph by jono self, an oxford photographer, friend and colleague at cms. he took on a pretty ambitious idea of reworking the last supper with children. this obviously involved some serious lighting, directing and photoshop skills (thanks to seth!). i think the results are a really original photo and take on jesus and children. many churches still exclude children from the table for various reasons. jesus in contrast always said let the children come to me.
jono has been developing a new web site for quite some time and i gather it will be launched fairly soon. apologies for the watermark in the photo – i honestly think i have never posted a photo with one in before as i am allergic to them but i guess i can make an exception! today is maundy thursday. i hope you get the chance to sit round a table with friends, and share bread and wine and stories and memories.
Ben Bell and Bob Mayo did a great resource a year or so back using images of the Easter story in a modern urban setting – using Ben’s youth folk, I think?
