some of you may remember that two years ago we created this crazy two day adventure for joel's eighteenth birthday. the idea behind it was a rite of passage – going away as a child, coming back a man. well it was harry's eighteenth last week and after pondering what to do we decided crazy adventure might lack the element of surprise but it was still the way to go…
it involved receiving eighteen envelopes or messages with instructions which included watching messages from family and friends on youtube, going to bath and weston supermare, seeing sean lock (comedy), going caving, buying a first legal pint, meeting various people, saying goodbye to childhood, listening to a truly astonishing track put together by chris read with friends rapping various verses (which i'll link to when it goes online somewhere which it is bound to do). it all ended with a surprise (or not) party at our house. this is the moment harry opened the lounge door which sort of captures the moment. it was fancy dress – come as the punchline of a joke – harry has an album of photos i took on facebook…
it was all such a lot of fun and harry is an amazing son!
