soundtrack for a triathlon

my wife jen is set to do the london triathlon in two weeks time. for those of you not up with the sport this involves a 1500m swim 40km bike ride and 10km run. anyway we were discussing music to listen to whilst doing it. these are some of the songs that jen has on her shuffle for the run part of the triathlon. jen says that tracks need to be the right tempo to run to and any tenuous link with running or triathlon keeps her going…

Respect  – Aretha Franklin
Beautiful Day – U2
Yahweh -U2 – ‘Take these shoes…’
Knew you were waiting for me – George Michael and Aretha Franklin – ‘When the river was deep I didn’t falter, when the mountain was high I still believed, when the valley was low it didn’t stop me…’
Step it up – Stereo MCs – ‘to the left, to the right, keep it goin’
Get the party started – Pink
Let’s get retarded – Black Eyed Peas – ‘runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’, and runnin’

i ran to the shins this morning, but i think the only link between them and the running was that my shins hurt at the end.
perhaps not the link you were looking for.

Gotta get thru this by Daniel Beddingfield (could be about sex and it made sense while I was in the gym doing abs (in))
    and
Three times a lady – commodores for the cool down (or is it the warm up) Tri – three?? Kinda works, maybe
    Good luck

    Bike Victory

Colnago needs no introduction, but attention tends to focus on the company’s very top, lightweight offerings because these are the bikes ridden to victory by stars like Oscar Freire and Michael Rasmussen.
