ealing gets a good exhibition and i get to exhibit in london

if i want to go and see an art exhibition i never even think to look at what’s on in ealing. it really doesn’t get a lot of note… but at the moment there is a photography exhibition at the pm gallery that has been singled out at various points by timeout, the guardian and the times as a must see exhibition. it’s an exhibition of walker-evans photographs of america in the years of the great depression. you’ve got until 9 september…

on the subject of photography and exhibitions i heard yesterday that one of the photos i submitted for the london independent photographers 19th annual exhibition has been selected so my boat that i took at loughan on the soliton sessions weekend will be exhibited. i’m pretty chuffed as it’s the first photo i’ve had exhibited. it’s near london bridge from 14-27 october. i’ll give you details nearer the time once there is a bit more info on the web site. i got the photo printed through loxley and it looks amazing – far better than anything i could have produced on an inkjet!

several other members of the ealing group have also had photos selected. the ealing web site has had a few new galleries and if you haven’t looked the loupe is interesting. someone from the group submits a selection of photos as a series explaining the idea behind them and the loupe comments (we have no idea who this person is). i love the series on exmoor – the description sounds like the kind of idea behind some of the things we might explore at grace.
