several things have changed/are changing at grace.
one is the way we plan. we’ve tried to free up space so that not everyone is involved in planning worship services. so a curator gets a small team together who plan services and pull in others as needed. the plan is that we as a community can keep creating fab worship but also get involved in other things locally.
another is the web site which i mentioned before. building on our ethos of participation the idea is that people involved in grace can create, add and edit content to the web site. this saves having one person over burdened with it but it frees the whole thing up…
well saturday’s grace followed on from speaking and was on the theme of listening. these changes were very much in evidence. a small team of four planned and led grace and it was wonderful. then they have collated and added the liturgy/outline to the grace archive – it works!
i’ll try not to make every grace service a worship trick but there are some really good things in the outline. one of the simplest was jenga prayer and i’ll add that as number 86. take a piece of wood from the jenga tower (home made variety btw) and write on it something that blocks you from listening to god. then add it back to the tower. at the end of the service come and collect your block to take home.
nice, how hard was it to make the jenga set….
i wasn’t involved in planning the service so i’ve no idea… i’ll try and remember to ask.
