you may remember me blogging about re:source before. it’s a partnership between various groups. we ran a year long course for people involved in church planting in the emerging culture. the course ran over 5 weekends through the year. we have been developing things and have appointed someone (beth) part time to direct re:source which i am excited about. we plan to run another course beginning in early 2006. details will be available in the next couple of months. but in the meantime we are running a one off day in birmingham. this is both a stand alone day and also ideal if you think you might be interested in doing the year long course. the web site is hopelessly out of date but will get updated in the next few months as well. here are details of the event in july. you can download a flier/booking form here (pdf)
. please pass on the info to anyone you think may be interested

Anyone currently involved or wanting to get involved in fresh expressions of church, mission in the emerging culture, or church planting who wants to meet some others who share the same passion, and get a bit of encouragement and input.
Hey Jonny,
Sounds like a great event… wish I was in the UK.
btw, Andrew Grinnell is a Sally Ann boy like me. Cool guy. I met him last year at a Canadian conference.
Any possibility of offering this in the US? Also, Can an American possibly attend the weekend, monthly, year long thing? My graduate program requires me to do a cross cultural, emerging experience? Thanx! Adele
i don’t know about the US – i think there’s plenty going on anyway isn’t there?… feel free to invite us all over though
w.r.t. doing the course last time we had a couple of people from spain do it so yes i don’t see a problem with flying in for the weekends… we haven’t even got the new schedule/prospectus together yet so ask me again in a couple of months
I think that the location offers a fantastic reason to go – I conference in a custard factory – Ambrosia or Birds?
Thanks for posting this Jonny. Bob & Mary Hopkins suggested to me a while back that I go along, but I hadn’t booked in. Just yesterday I found myself thinking about it again, and wondering whether it was too late to get in, and that I ought to find out…and then you go and post this today. I’ve just got back from the postbox…See you there!
Hi Diana – I remember you from the Roxy days here in Sheffield. How’ve you been? In answer to your question, it’s Birds – and apparently, it’s the birth-place of custard…
i find the USAmerican approach to be a little behind the UK and the rest of Europe minus a few people. I find the UK approach to be more refreshing and better attempts at moving forward and knowing what they arte about. i am not trying to be critical here, just my own observations, though.
Would love to be there, sounds like it will be a good time, but unfortunately I’m already away that weekend. Next time…
Am looking forward to it… especially to hear TSK again – he is always inspiritational (and fun)… Oh yes and the worship too!
The Edinburgh police will be pleased you’re all down there that day … making, erm, spiritual poverty history?
The coincidence offers an interesting question, though: what is the place of political engagement and protest in ’emerging’ church movements (we used to call it a ‘social gospel’)?
john we had no idea when planning the day that that was when mph was – we planned the date ages ago. if we had we would have re-arranged. plenty of people are passionate about both… ho hum
Waaaah….Not only mph but rather alot of ordinations too. Spare a prayer, jonny…I’m being done at 5.00 that afternoon in Gloucester x
