this is a first for me i think – using the blog to ask you guys for some help!
i am working with artist (and friend) paul hobbs on a project called holy ground. the idea for this is very simple. we want to collect a range of shoes from christians round the world for an installation at greenbelt this summer (and if it looks good maybe a resource to go with it). and we want a brief story that goes with the shoes. easy eh?!
this is where you come in… readers of this blog are from round the world or have friends round the world so i wonder if you can take a few minutes to think if either you know someone or you yourself have a pair of shoes with a story that you can send us? it’s great but not essential if the story connects with the shoes in some way. so far we have shoes from far flung places but quite a few are from people in mission or church leaders. we really want the shoes to be a window into the body of christ globally so want just regular shoes from christians involved in all areas of life. they don’t have to be beaten up shoes – anything really! so…. if you are interested/can help you can download the following:
a summary of the project
a form for people donating shoes to fill in their story and to give us permission to use their shoes
a letter to send to anyone explaining the project
feel free to e-mail me ideas/contacts or leave comments below. hope you don’t mind me asking!?….
[update: see here for holy ground]
WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA! Love it.
You’ll get my shoes, i promise! I just havn’t time to send it today… but in next week…
