a while back i blogged that getty images had started a new collection with flickr. seeing as flickr has so many brilliant photos this seemed like a really smart idea. the way it worked was that you had to be spotted and invited to submit particular photos. i got contacted and thought i'd try it with the 7 photos that they liked. to my amazement i have had two that have been used and i have earned some money which is always a bonus… it's gradually been changing such that artists on getty have been invited to submit new photos for selection though it seems to take rather a long time to hear back. the latest development though is that the whole thing has been thrown open so anyone can submit photos for consideration to getty through artist picks. thomas hawk blogs about it here if you want more detail.
