thank you to everyone who came to the fringe dweller session at greenbelt. a highlight was the artists making contributions. we used the reflection flip the script from the book which is about a woman who has been bent over a long time who is healed by jesus. and we were pondering the ways we can be bent over. jenny’s poem take up space is in that section of the book and is a really powerful reverse poem telling her story of flipping the script. a lot of people were very touched by what she shared. she has blogged about it and added the poem.
thanks too to chris and harry. and thank you too for such positive feedback. it feels a very greenbelt theme and book so was lovely to introduce it there and it was dave’s first greenbelt. in terms of the festival for me it is nearly always about connecting with people though i do try and get to a few things. i loved seeing david benjamin blower, arrested development and cubafrobeat. a talks highlight was ann pettifor on global finance. and of course it was a joy to see harry with a huge crowd for tender.
it was my second festival in a row having been to we out here the weekend before. the music there is incredible. but perhaps the moments there were anaiis, momoko gill, trojan night with daddy g and nightmares on wax. but so much more too…
