i am excited to be part of between light and shadow, a forthcoming photo exhibition as part of ealing BEAT, the local art trail. the exhibition is from ealing lip photography group i am part of. there are eighteen contributors. it runs over the first two weekends in september and the opening night is thurs 3 sept 7-9:30pm – consider yourself invited! we’re back in the amazing space at st mary’s in ealing suspending photos that will float in mid air.
the theme responds to the uncertainty of our times. here’s the blurb
Truth lives in ambiguity. What we see depends on where the light falls.
Our world is riven by arguments of what is true and what is fake.
Reality is not necessarily shared. It’s in the eye of the beholder.
The work in our exhibition plays with this concept. The “truth” of an image emerges not from what is fully illuminated, nor from what is fully obscured,
but from the tension between the two.
The viewer becomes an active participant, completing the image with their own
perceptions, biases and emotional responses. The ambiguity becomes the truth.
