this is a rather wonderful piece on sophia called the wounded healer, no doubt inspired by henri nouwen’s remarkable book of that title. what i liked about it was that it pulls back the idea of disciplsehip into the kind of life we are prepared to live in following christ as opposed to a course or an education that we sign up to (or even worse something that we do to other people). and it’s pretty clear that annie (who i’ve never met and know nothing about) is one of those amazing people who quietly get on with opening up their lives to others…
