What is this life, if full of care.
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand benearh the boughs
And stare as long as sheep and cows.
No time to see, when woodes we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to turn at beauty’s glance
And watch her feet, how the dance.
No time to wait until her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
from time to time the ealing LIP photography group have a photo challenge/shoot which is always good fun. recently there was a challenge jointly with some other groups from around london to interpret or respond to a poem by producing a panel of three photographs taken in and around trafalgar square. the groups then met to look at the panels and vote for ones they liked the most or best responded to the brief.
producing a panel of photos is quite a different challenge to a single image – how do they work together? are the tones similar? does the panel balance? etc… it requires a bit of a different way of thinking about it. anyway you can see what people came up with on the ealing LIP site here.
these were my three shots…
Just wanted to say as did not get chance today – thanks for the stuff you shared at the global connections – had come over from bristol and some stuff was helpful.
quasi-sherlock holmes and the fosters bag really makes me think of processes that really do not flow together. i like the fact that what i notice is three distinct lines, one in each picture – the concrete directing the eye at first glance
